Since Giovanna asked us whether we could go out somewhere and have a drink and a dance and I had this conscious on me saying that I should meet up with a Dutch friend (Ton) in Flekkefjord again (and we didn't for a year or so), we decided to go yesterday night to Flekkefjord. A small explanation how busy this nightlife is and what you will find here. We met up with Ton and his girlfriend near the Flekkefjord Sparebank and went to the first bar of this tour in Flekkefjord, the 'Hestens' (horses). This bar was below a restaurant and had a pool table, a room for Darts and a room for Karaoke. We started with a drink (note: very expensive in Norway: glass baileys with ice: 60 kr, glass beer 0,5l 60 kr, glass cola 0.3l 30 kr) and went quite fast to the Pool table for a few sessions of Pool. Enjoyed to do that again, last time we did that was with our friends in Holland in Hengelo (nov 2007). Theresa and me vs Ton and his girlfriend (Ton won), afterwards Theresa vs Steven (Theresa won) and closing with Steven vs Ton (Steven won). As we wanted to see the whole nightlife, we went on to the next bar, Maritim. This bar is part of the Maritim Hotel (hotel chain in Norway) and it was a nice looking bar with several places to sit and live piano music with vocals. Quite nice, except for the drunk people. The drunk people, perhaps that is something mandatory in this 'nightlife'. If they were just drunk and nothing else than it would have been alright for me. But they were drunk and annoying. Not far from Maritim, to be precisely NEXT to Maritim is the club 'Kameleon'. This is basicly a bar with a big stage and a big screen with beamer. The dancing wasn't really audio equipped for disco music. Speakers the size of me are actually meant for stages with live concerts. But.. this dancing had at least a dancefloor with 'nice' light shows. We stayed here precisely 5 minutes (people were weird, it was basicly empty and the music was way too loud) and went back to bar nr. 1 (Hestens) to have a relaxing time and some talks. Also the Karaoke part opened. Giovanna loves to sing Karaoke, so Giovanna and Theresa did sing the song 'Kylie Minogue - can't get you out of my head' together. After drinking another glass and saying goodbye to our friends we left Flekkefjord back home. Conclusion: Flekkefjord nightlife is fine for if you are looking for a bar full of drunk people ;), a karaoke and a game of pool. Don't try to find a busy disco in small cities such as Flekkefjord. The next night out will be in Kristiansand (in april). |
