Some of you have most likely already seen a bit about it on facebook, as we have placed a photoalbum there (we use lightroom for editing and uploading photos goes very fast and easy with that towards Facebook).

So it was full christmas dinners at our place. I was dreading it a little as to make so much food in such short time, plus that I had to work all the way to the point where guests would arrive (friday 23rd of dec).

Christmas starts in Norway at the 24th of December as christmas eve, the evening before christmas, so shops close early afternoon on that saturday, so we shopped some extra last minute stuff on saturday.  
But luckily were the ladies Laura and Lisa very helpful in making the very special different dinners. So on friday we had pancakes (they actually planned something special English here too but they simply came too late for it to make it. On Saturday we ate Norwegian christmas food: Ribbe (Spare-ribs) and Medisterkaker (a type of meatballs made out of pigmeat).
Sunday the 25th we had the original English/European Christmas dinner: filled Turkey with cranberry sauce and steamed vegetables (+ boiled potatoes).
On Monday the 26th Theresa had to go back to work again and Laura and Hallvard had to travel back to Setesdal (5 hours driving) as they had to start work again on Tuesday. Lisa stayed to Wednesday.

New Years eve
On friday we traveled after worktime to Kristiansand to celebrate new year with Lisa and Ivan and Anja. I took our fondueset with, so we had meatfondue on saturday.
As I forgot to buy matches and the fuel for the burner, I had to go to a fuelstation to buy it. I can tell you.. on new years eve.. buying the combination of Red Spirit and matches at a fuelstation.. gives you weird looks and weird faces from the fuelstation personell!

After the dinner and some movie watching we went to a nearby beach to fire our own fireworks off, we bought for about 20 euro of fireworks.. was beautiful. It's recorded somewhere so at some point it will end up on youtube or something similar. We later on went to town to watch the professional fireworks paid for by Kristiansand, but that...was a little disappointment.. as it had begun to snow and a lot of fogg came in as well from sea. Shame but luckily there was a lot of fireworks been fired off by people much more nearby (in some cases way too nearby).

So that was that.. and then the new year started with more work and more fun.. and that's to write about another time.
