At 2 in the morning (after a lot of sms traffic) I finally received a call from Richard (on Jessica's iphone). 'Hello we are now off the road and I see a traffic sign to Kvinesdal and to Farsund. Am I right?' They drove a little wrong, as they took an exit too early. In the meanwhile Theresa was driving in very bad weather and the darkness of night to meet them at the roundabout under the bridge. After a while we finally met them. They were completely exhausted. After driving a whole day plus a boat trip of 3 hours and another 2 hour drive to Kvinesdal in a dark and unknown environment. Difficult and tiresome. We helped them find the way to our house, had a short tour through the house, a drink and a talk and than went to bed. The next (or same sunday) morning a bit later we all woke up. Richard first who took a bath, than me (Steven) and Theresa, than Jessica and last but not least Mark. Had a nice breakfast lunch and went out at 2.30pm for a drive through Kvinesdal past all the places they have been driving past a couple of hours earlier, but they didn't see anything at that time than. They were completely amazed, surprised and stumbled by the beauty of Norway. Even if it's a bit cloudy, very windy and slightly raining. Clouds make the effects go funny with sun and cloud shadows going over the valley. Went to Utsikten for an overview, than to the earlier (2am) bridge with roundabout for a lot of Fjord pictures, than to Feda which is a small village with cute (boat)houses, marine and bridge and than via the fishing area for tourists (Fjordside) to Kvinesdal center. After six Steven made Spaghetti Bolognese which was warmly welcome to the photographing tourists. At the moment they are playing several Wii games such as Super Mario Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. Perhaps this day will end in watching a movie or just a talk and a jump into bed. I think we are going to have great days with them. I just spoke to Eelco and he is now off to bed. Tomorrow he will start at 6am on his Hitchhiking journey (with a towel!) through Holland, Germany, Denmark to arrive either tomorrow night or tuesday morning in Norway. |
