In this report I will talk about all what has been done by our visitors Mark, Jessica, Richard and Eelco the past 7 days in a fast boat trip time and I will also tell you about one of the events we did: traveling with a very fast speed boat in the Fjords. To begin with a small summary of what has been done and achieved: Mark, Jessica and Richard arrived sunday 3rd of August 2.30am and went to bed. Later that day we went for sightseeing tour in the area of Kvinesdal for several photos. Tuesday Mark, Jessica and Richard went for a trip to Preikestolen nearby Stavanger. The weather was rainy with lots of clouds. They have though made pictures again and did half the walk to the Preikestolen. They ate in Sandnes and I and Theresa had work and dinner ourselves at home. Tuesday night Theresa and I went to Kristiansand to pick up Eelco which arrived 00:00 Wednesday at Kristiansand with the Colorline boat. We were back home 2am. Wednesday was an rest day for our guests. We decided to show them a trip to Farsund over the old road and after looking around on touristical way, we shopped our meal in there. Farsund is the only place until now that we have found to sell Vegatarian meat in packets (Coop). Kvinesdal doesn't have any shop that sells that special type of 'fake meat'. We ate a special vegetable, meat (or veggy meat), rice dish made by Eelco. Thursday we went all together to Kristiansand. This trip was mainly based on shopping. So we went to all kind of funny shops in the center of Kristiansand. Some pictures were shot of the center. Richard got his 'balls' in Upstairs, a shop that appeared to be downstaires actually. Afterwards we went on to Sørlandssenteret for more shopping (cat food) and a meal at Peppes Pizza together with Ivan and Lisa which Steven picked up from their homes. Thursday evening home we found Laura who came to visit us for a day to do some business in town next morning. Friday was a day with sun for once! Mark and Eelco decided to stay home to repair something for us, fish and be around the house to rest. Jessica and Richard went on to Lysebotn to be amazed by the views, the 27 sharp turns, the snow(!) and the fjord. Later on we went a bit farther towards the sea, where the boat started rocking on the waves. That was a bit too scary so we went back to the more quite area of the Fjord and started trying out the engine at it's max and turning the boat around amazingly fast. Probably we were also showing off to the people at the beaches (haha). At 5.30pm we went back to the harbour to pay for the fuel and give the boat back to it's owner (awww). We went back to Kvinesdal and back home we made a barbeque and a huge campfire to keep ourselves warm during the barbeque evening, as the temperature dropped to 13 degrees C. I'll be uploading several photos of their trip as well as of ourselves during the coming hours. I cannot promise anything about the amount you will have today or tomorrow as it is now already late evening and I have to go through 1705 photos and 15 movies ;). We thank Mark, Jessica, Richard and Eelco for a fantastic time with us! We hereby also want to tell them they are welcome anytime back to visit us in another holiday. Whether it is for their pleasure of visiting Norway or for helping us around the house or just plain relaxing in the garden and nature of Norway. Or perhaps a nice snowy trip on ski's in Knaben or Setesdalen/Hovden? |
